Online Charity Auction for International Women's Day 2021 February 26 to March 8
beCuriou is a proud sponsor of IIX Foundation and the 2021SHE IS MORE Charity Auction.
As a business we have a stake in, and a responsibility for, gender equality and women's empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and global communities. This is of the utmost importance to us, as a part of our vision for the company is to give back to the different destinations we work with, to protect, empower and benefit the local communities and natural resources.
IIX Foundation is a registered Singapore charity dedicated to supporting women across all stages of their journey to empowerment—to transform themselves, their futures and to create a gender equal world for the next generation. The foundation's flagship fundraising campaign is called SHE IS MORE and we are proud to announce that we are a part of this year's online charity auction (February 26 to March 8), to help build momentum for the global celebration of International Women's Day 2021.
Women make up 70% of global healthcare workers and 66% of primary school teachers. They are at the frontlines of the global COVID-19 resilience campaign, all while guiding families along as mothers, sisters and daughters. This year, in celebration of women who are courageously protecting our people and planet while risking their lives on the frontlines, the auction theme is SHE IS COURAGE, because SHE is the catalyzer of COVID-Resilience. beCuriou's donation to the cause consists of five tailor made travel packages, all of which will be up for bids come February 26. We hereby invite you to take part in the auction, as we hope we can all make a difference together. Do good while staying sane and safe. Lock in your post-COVID travel plans while helping underserved women. In addition to our contributions, there will be several other high-end items up for auction, like jewelry, designer clothing, exclusive experiences and much more.
Proceeds from SHE IS MORE go towards developing resilient communities in Asia, Africa, and North America, and giving their women a voice to build a better life and a better future. SHE IS MORE 2019 raised US$40,000 that went towards supporting 20,000+ hours of computer literacy training for underserved women living in the slums of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and arts therapy for female survivors of domestic abuse in Singapore.
Meet Rani, living in the slums of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Previously a computer novice, thanks to the 2019 SHE IS MORE Auction, now Rani has gained the digital readiness skills critical for her and her family to stay alerted to the global COVID-19 response, and to contribute to rebuilding her community.
